This post is dedicated to Uncle Walter of Lost in Kids...Laura, make sure he reads it!
Last week I volunteered to pick up my friend Nancy's son Clayton (who, incidentally, looks like he was born to be in a Ralph Lauren ad) at school. My son Rory usually takes the bus, so on that day I told him that I would pick him up in the carpool line because that's how Clayton normally gets home.
Rory said, "Why can't Clayton just take the bus like me?"
I replied, "They can't just let elementary kids who normally get picked up just randomly get on a bus one afternoon and go wherever it takes them!"
Rory said, "Is that part of No Child Left Behind?"
Yeah, the program makes about as much sense to me too!
