It's that time again! Time for me to buy one lucky blog reader a book for no good reason (although I must admit, I can't think of a bad reason to buy a book!) I will set the limit at $30 including shipping, so if you have your heart set on reading a new hardcover instead of waiting for the paperback, this is your moment!
All I ask of you is that you comment on this blog entry letting us know the best book you read in 2006 (author and title, please, so others can find your recommendation). If you feel so inclined, you are welcome to add a blurb as to why this book was #1.
In the meantime, I am going to dedicate this week's blogs to books, books, books. You will get to see my list of top ten books I read this year. You will get to see a list of the ten books that wasted my time this year. I am thinking of some themes and giving lists of the best books I've read around those themes. (If you have any ideas in this regard, please let me know.)
At the end of BAFAB (which I will unilaterally declare as Sunday, January 7 at noon), the names of all the participants will be put in a hat and the winner drawn by one of my children. The winner and his/her book selection will be posted at the conclusion of BAFAB. Remember, you don't have to let me know the book you want in your comment, because you may end up choosing a book based on someone else's #1 for 2006.
If you really feel generous and inspired, I would encourage you to go out and Buy a Friend a Book this week...just because.

P.S. If you have a blog that is participating in BAFAB, please feel free to put your link in the comment and it will appear below so others can visit your site. Others can just leave a comment without a link.
